Turnaround to circular ICT procurement must drastically curb waste pile

Growing stream of discarded ICT hardware generates 50 million annual scraps The Dutch ICT chain guarantees a continuously growing stream of discarded ICT hardware. As of this year, we collectively discard over 50 million ICT hardware products. To make the increasing digitalization in Dutch society feasible and sustainable, promoting circularity in the ICT chain is crucial.

Digital kiosk

A digital kiosk is a column or table with a built-in interactive screen. Basically a tablet or smartphone, but in a big way. There are flat interactive tables that you can sit at, but there are also standing kiosks, on a pillar, that can serve as wayfinding or for passing an order, for example. There are countless applications for which you can use a digital kiosk and we will mention a few of them.

Circular Economy

The Dutch government has set the goal for the Netherlands to be fully circular by 2050. Not so strange, because the world's supply of raw materials is not infinite. Think for example of all the metals in our electronics. Every year we use up the raw materials that the earth can produce in one year (Earth Overshoot Day). Therefore, it is important to reuse materials. But what exactly does the circular economy mean?
